The historical seismogram collection in Strasbourg

We present a complete inventory of the historical Strasbourg seismograms housed at École et Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre (EOST), University Strasbourg, France. Although published seismological records date back to 1892, station was officially created in 1900, with structure specifically built for monitoring. The presence highly motivated and active scientists from outset, along unique geographic political situation late 19th early 20th centuries, made city central point research international exchanges. A wide variety seismographs were operated throughout century. More than 130,000 Wiechert, Mainka, Galitzin, Peterschmitt, 19-ton pendulum, Nikiforov, Press–Ewing instruments are preserved within seismogram collection, most being original records. However, pre-1930 we only have microfilm copies. also an instrumental constants found books corresponding responses.
